About TFC
The Female Catalyst is a leadership and career acceleration platform dedicated to advancing women across life sciences, biotech, healthcare, and academia. What began as an intimate networking initiative has evolved into a curated ecosystem designed to foster access, strategic growth, and leadership visibility for women shaping the future of science.
Led by Dr. Stephanie (Skouras) Hamdeh, TFC reflects both professional experience and personal perspective. Raised by immigrant parents, Stephanie was instilled early with the values of discipline, education, and long-term vision — where opportunity was never assumed, but built through persistence and adaptability. Her curiosity for science and innovation began young, teaching herself how to code and exploring STEM pathways well before entering the life sciences industry.
Through curated events, career strategy, and leadership platforms, TFC was built to close the access gap Stephanie witnessed firsthand: talented women were present across the industry, but often lacked the visibility, advocacy, and strategic positioning needed to advance.
Today, the platform exists to ensure women in science are not only included in influential spaces, but equipped and confident enough to lead them.
